Using the app without an account
Guides, the toolbox and the AI Coach work without an account. Saved guides, checklists, service notes you keep on the phone and your Coach conversations are stored on your device and are not uploaded.
If you create an account
Signing in with an email address or with Google stores your email address and a sign-in record so your equipment records can follow you to a new phone. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider; we never see them.
Equipment records and photos
Equipment records, work-history entries, service notes saved to equipment and any photos you attach are stored on our servers so they survive a reinstall. They are private to your account: every read and write is checked against your account on the server, and a QR code on its own gives nobody access. Photos are kept in private storage and are shown to you through short-lived links.
AI Coach
When you ask the AI Coach a question, the text of that conversation, any photo you attach and — only when you have explicitly opened a piece of equipment — a short summary of that equipment and its recent work history are sent to our AI provider to produce the answer. We keep a record of each request for safety, cost and abuse limits: the time, which allowance it counted against, the size of the request and whether it succeeded. Hazards reported during a conversation are recorded so the app keeps giving you the right safety guidance in that conversation.
Usage limits and identifiers
Monthly AI allowances are counted on our side. Without an account this count is tied to a private identifier stored in a cookie for this installation; clearing app data starts a new count. There is no advertising, tracking or analytics service in the app.
Payments
Subscriptions are not available yet. When they are, purchases will be handled by the app store; we will never receive or store payment card details.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your equipment records stay until you delete them, and they are kept even if a subscription ends. From your account you can download a complete copy of your own records, or close your account permanently — which removes your equipment records, work history, saved notes and your sign-in record. Both work without an active subscription. Error logs and request records used for limits and abuse prevention are kept for a short period and contain no message content.
